Merry Christmas ~ People are Weird.

Happy whatever Holiday means something to you and your family at this time of the year! Seriously, I mean that.

Personally, I am not a believer in the original reasons for any of the religious holidays marked at this time of year but I still feel it is a Special Time.

I love that friends and family can take the time out of their lives, and are allowed to take the time away from work, to spend with each other. To me, this is the Spirit of the Season.

Life passes so very quickly – days flow into each other until, inevitably, we get to December and the end of another year and I am always amazed that the time has passed so quickly.

Events like Christmas furlough need to be marked. We need to mark any opportunity that allows / makes us get together with those important to us. I know that when I see people on these occasions, as Joyous as it is, I am always a bit dismayed and saddened by how much time has passed since I saw them last … there are so many demands on us that we cocoon in our daily lives and then …

*** Woohoo ***

Party!

Food!

Time off!

Take photos. Be part of the event.

I am thankful for so much – for the people in my life, for my life in general, for living in a Country and City that is safe, for the food on my table (and for the wine) and for the Beauty of the World and where I live …

And now back to why People are Weird.

Families especially. It is so true that we don’t pick our families – they are thrust upon us. Amazing how we can grow and evolve with people that can be so very different than us ~ add extended families and life gets interesting.

The stereotypical drunk uncle – can be anyone you know – the person who always says the wrong thing at the wrong time, or You. (Perhaps me at times!)

The person in your friends or family that tells stories that can’t really be true. (or really shouldn’t be!)

The gossips.

The drama kings / queens.

They all make the event interesting.

We love them all.

Somehow it all works out.

For all the Weird and Wonderful people in my life, and even those not so much, I would like to express my thanks for you making my life interesting. For being there. For challenging me and for supporting me. I am Thankful.

Oh, and for Dungeness crab … especially for Dungeness crab.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.
